Jobs and People Share your expertise as a speaker at HYDROVISION International 2025 Elizabeth Ingram 8.13.2024 Share We have opened up our call for content — abstracts and speakers — for HYDROVISION International 2025, and this is your opportunity to share your expertise when the global hydropower and dams industry gathers in Minneapolis, Minn., U.S. For 2025, there are three ways you can be a thought leader in the global industry. First, abstracts for technical presentations for HYDROVISION International 2025 will be accepted in five broad categories: environmental issues and water management, equipment and technology, industry trends and analysis, new development, operations and maintenance. All abstract submissions will be evaluated by the Advisory Committee. Preference will be given to abstracts that focus on innovative, practical and proven technologies and methods and those that include the involvement of an owner or operator of a dam or hydropower project. Abstracts that describe the focus and content of proposed papers (maximum of 4,000 characters) are due by Sept. 24, 2024, and the submitter will be notified via e-mail no later than Jan. 15, 2025, regarding whether or not their presentation has been selected. The presenting author for all selected abstracts will then be invited to make either a technical paper presentation or poster gallery presentation at HYDROVISION International 2025. All presented technical papers will be made available to conference delegates through the online access to papers and presentations program. Second, we have issued a call for speakers for the panel presentation sessions. Panel presentations will be made in the same categories mentioned above. Panel presentations are intended to be informal in nature, involving a moderator-driven panel discussion around a specific topic that also addresses questions from the audience. If you feel you have the expertise to speak on a particular subject, make sure you share those details with us so you can be considered to be invited as a speaker when the advisory committee is developing the educational program. Third, there will be limited opportunities available to present workshops at HYDROVISION International 2025. There are two workshop approaches: Waterpower Hydro Basics 2.0 and Hydro Hands-on (H2O) Training. Waterpower Hydro Basics 2.0 workshops are deeper dives into topics covered during the Waterpower Hydro Basics training course. We are accepting proposals for these workshops, including the topic to be covered and the expert speaker who would lead the workshop. And the H2O training courses are off-site, hands-on sessions intended to give attendees a different way to learn about important topics. When proposing this type of content, please tell us the topic you would cover, the facility where this training would take place, and your expertise on the subject. The event will take place July 14-17 in Minneapolis, Minn., U.S. Denver Water is a host utility for the event.
