Large areas of the U.S., particularly the western part of the country, are dealing with significant drought conditions that have short- and long-term ramifications not just for hydroelectric power production but also for water delivery, environmental conditions (fish health and river connectivity) and potentially even dam safety.
During this session, our speakers will discuss the current situation regarding drought and hydropower. They will share how they are gathering data and trackingPreview Changes (opens in a new tab) trends around hydrologic conditions and water supply/inflow, how major purposes such as electricity production and water delivery are affected, and what the long-term trend of climate change/global warming could mean for future operations.
