Jobs and People Walker named Hydropower Foundation program director, replacing Mendlin Elizabeth Ingram 6.25.2024 Share Aimee Walker is now program director for the Hydropower Foundation in the U.S., replacing Bree Mendlin. In this role, Walker will manage communication strategies, oversee events and programs, lead stakeholder engagement and foster academic partnerships to enhance the foundation’s program and reputation. She comes to the foundation from Slalom Consulting, bringing expertise in operational excellence, employee engagement, transforming organizational culture and efficiency. Linda Church Ciocci, executive director of the Hydropower Foundation, praised Walker’s organizational skills and business practices and said she looked forward to Walker’s contributions to the foundation’s programs. Mendlin resigned at the end of May after 10 years of service to take on a new position as project manager in the workforce and energy systems transformation group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. In this role, she will continue working in hydropower while gaining new experience working in other renewables. “The Foundation has been very lucky to have had someone of Bree’s talent and commitment,” said Church Ciocci. “We wish her well in her new endeavor and know she will do great things at NREL. We are excited for her and look forward to working with her in her new capacity.” The Hydropower Foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to cultivating a robust, diverse, and environmentally conscious waterpower workforce through focused education, research and experiential learning opportunities. The organization is dedicated to exponentially growing its workforce programs in the coming year.
