This is our fifth and final track chair profile, featuring James Kiel, track chair for Industry Trends and Analysis. Having experts in the industry choose and guide the conference sessions ensures all the educational offerings at HYDROVISION International cover the hot topics and trends. All told on the conference planning committee, 45 experts from across the industry work closely with Clarion Energy to bring the most important topics and latest ideas to the event every year. Committee members represent about 15 countries. HYDROVISION International 2024 features five conference tracks, including the Equipment and Technology sessions in the knowledge hub. There truly is something for everyone in the content presented at HYDROVISION International. Industry Trends and Analysis track chair Kiel has worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Hydroelectric Design Center for over 16 years and has experience in design and engineering, design and construction for turbines and mechanical systems. With over 20 years of leadership experience, Kiel is chief, mechanical systems in the HDC’s Mechanical-Structural Branch. Established in 1948, the HDC is the Corps’ national Center of Expertise for hydroelectric and large pumping plant engineering and planning services. The HDC has about 175 team members with the largest concentration of electrical, mechanical and computer science staff in the USACE.
