Jobs and People Mavel Americas names Rousseau chief operating officer, promotes Porse to sales director Elizabeth Ingram 7.4.2024 Share Mavel Americas Inc. announces the addition of Christopher Rousseau as chief operating officer and the promotion of N. Christian Porse (Chris) to sales director for the USA and Canada. Rousseau will focus on project management for Mavel’s growing non-powered dam business segment. He brings a strong foundation of hydroelectric power experience to Mavel after working for civil construction firm J.F. Brennan Company Inc. and Minnesota Power. He is also vice chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Hydropower Association. Porse will oversee market development and sales for Mavel Americas, with expansion of his team a top priority. After a 40-year career at PPL and PPL Generation, Porse joined Mavel as a project manager in 2014 and transitioned to sales manager for the United States in 2017. Jeanne Hilsinger, president of Mavel Americas and executive chairman of the Czech-based parent company Mavel a.s., noted that “with an increase in the number of projects currently under way in North America, Mavel Americas is building upon the strength of its core team to manage the increased volume of work.” Mavel Americas has made other additions and changes to its team for the Americas. Joshua Peed joined Mavel earlier this year as project manager focused on rehabilitation projects in the Northwest. His experience includes more than 10 years in hydroelectric power at Central Oregon Irrigation District. Peed has also worked as a project engineer for Greenbury Industrial and started his own business. Garrett Odom has joined the Americas sales team as sales assistant/proposal writer and Odom has relocated to the Czech Republic office where he will support the Americas team at Mavel, a.s. John Huysentruyt, senior project manager, will remain the lead and oversee Mavel’s core business in the Americas of provision of new equipment for refurbishment projects at existing facilities. Kristi Geary will remain chief financial officer but will take a more active role in human resources and overall management. Homero Hernandez, sales manager for Latin America, will add project management responsibilities. Margaret McDonald will remain office manager/marketing coordinator. Mavel Americas is the Boston-based 100%-owned subsidiary of Mavel a.s., which produces turbines and related equipment for small and medium hydroelectric power projects.
