FERC got particularly active in December issuing hydropower licenses

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in December 2015 issued 10 licenses for conventional hydro projects representing a total of 52.6 MW, which was the bulk of the activity in all of 2015, when a total of 15 licenses for conventional hydro projects were issued for a total of 70.5 MW.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in December 2015 issued 10 licenses for conventional hydro projects representing a total of 52.6 MW, which was the bulk of the activity in all of 2015, when a total of 15 licenses for conventional hydro projects were issued for a total of 70.5 MW.

FERC said in an infrastructure report for December 2015, issued on Feb. 2, that these developers were issued original licenses in December:

  • Lock 14 Hydro Partners LLC for the proposed 2.64 MW Heidelberg Hydroelectric Project. The project will be located at the Kentucky River Authority’s Lock and Dam No. 14 on the Kentucky River, near the Town of Heidelberg, Lee County, Kentucky.
  • Lock 12 Hydro Partners LLC for the proposed 2.64 MW Ravenna Hydroelectric Project, It will be located at the Kentucky River Authority’s Lock and Dam No. 12 on the Kentucky River, near the Town of Ravenna, Estill County, Kentucky.
  • Clean River Power MR-3 LLC for the proposed 3.0 MW Beverly Lock and Dam Water Power Project. It will be located at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Beverly Dam on the Muskingum River, near the Village of Beverly, in Washington and Morgan counties, Ohio.
  • Clean River Power MR-5 LLC for the proposed 4.0 MW Malta/McConnelsville Lock and Dam Water Power Project. The project will be located at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Malta Dam on the Muskingum River, in Morgan County, Ohio.
  • Clean River Power MR-7 LLC for the proposed 3.0 MW Philo Lock and Dam Water Power Project. The project will be located at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Philo Dam on the Muskingum River, near the Village of Philo, Muskingum County, Ohio.
  • Clean River Power MR-6 LLC for the proposed 4.0 MW Rokeby Lock and Dam Water Power Project. It will be located at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Rokeby Dam on the Muskingum River, near Bloom Township, Muskingum and Morgan counties, Ohio.
  • FFP Missouri 2 LLC for the proposed 14.6 MW Sardis Lake Hydroelectric Project. The project will be located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Sardis Dam on the Little Tallahatchie River, near the Town of Sardis, Panola County, Mississippi.
  • FFP Missouri 2 LLC for the proposed 9.0 MW Grenada Lake Hydroelectric Project. The project will be located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Grenada Dam on the Yalobusha River, near the Town of Grenada, Grenada County, Mississippi.
  • FFP Missouri 2 LLC for the proposed 4.6 MW Enid Lake Hydroelectric Project. The project will be located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Enid Dam on the Yocona River, near the Town of Enid, Yalobusha County, Mississippi.
  • FFP Missouri 2 LLC for the proposed 5.1 MW Arkabutla Lake Hydroelectric Project. It will be located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Arkabutla Dam on the Coldwater River, near the Town of Arkabutla, Tate and Yalobusha counties, Mississippi.
