Jobs and People Filion second executive to depart Hydro-Québec hydroreviewcontentdirectors 2.1.2023 Share Tags Hydro-Quebec Éric Filion — executive vice president, chief operating officer and customer experience officer — is leaving Hydro-Québec on Feb. 17 “to begin a new chapter in his career,” according to a release. Filion joined the company in 2016 as vice president. He became the president of Hydro-Québec Distribution 2018 and took on his current role in 2021. Prior to that, Filion worked nine years at Bombardier, ending as vice president general manager. He has a bachelor of mechanical engineering and a master of aeronautical engineering. “I would like to salute Éric’s leadership qualities, in particular his ability to mobilize teams, as well as his great rigor,” said Sophie Brochu, president and chief executive officer of Hydro-Québec. “I would also like to highlight his significant contribution to improving the customer experience and advancing our health and safety practices, as well as the role he played in the evolution of our organization. I hope that the new challenges he will take up will bring him all the success he deserves. “ Brochu recently announced she was leaving the company, effective April 11. “I consider myself privileged to have worked, over the past seven years, with a team that devotes itself daily to carrying out Hydro-Québec’s core mission and to customer service,” adds Filion. “I rubbed shoulders with committed and competent people who have great expertise and who devote themselves to Quebec society.” Hydro-Québec’s structure remains unchanged, according to a release. Régis Tellier, vice president – operations and maintenance, and Geneviève Fournier, vice president – marketing and customer experience, will report to Brochu until further notice. Hydro-Québec generates, transmits and distributes electricity. It is Canada’s largest electricity producer and one of the largest hydroelectric producers in the world, sourcing most of its electricity supply from hydroelectric generating stations. Its sole shareholder is the Quebec government.
