Business West wins U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contract for engineering services Elizabeth Ingram 2.8.2024 Share Tags U.S. Army Corps of Engineers West has been awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Architect-Engineer Single Award Task Order Contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Portland District, for hydraulic and hydrologic engineering services. The contract has a maximum capacity of $10 million over five years and includes a range of professional hydrologic engineering services work tasks. For example, tasks may include hydraulic and coastal design, reservoir regulation and water quality, river and hydrologic engineering, and hydrographic and topographic surveys. In addition, USACE may draw on West’s expertise in hydraulic, hydrologic and environmental engineering analysis and design in the areas of structural, fluvial and dam hydraulics; hydrology, river engineering and sedimentation; coastal engineering specific to the Pacific Northwest; reservoir systems analysis; physical, chemical and biological sediment characterization; and channel morphology. Covering most of Oregon and southwestern Washington, the USACE Portland District operates locks and dams along the Columbia River, operates dams in the Willamette Valley for flood risk management, maintains Oregon’s coastal rivers for navigation, and leads the U.S. in hydropower generation, all while ensuring environmental protection and restoration, fish and wildlife enhancement, and recreation. Corps hydropower plants on the mid-Columbia River are Bonneville, The Dalles and John Day. The Willamette River Basin contains the Big Cliff, Cougar, Detroit, Dexter, Foster, Green Peter, Hills Creek and Lookout Point hydropower projects. “We are honored that the Portland District has shown its continued confidence in West to provide them with specialized H&H services,” said Hans Hadley, PE, LG, CFM, vice president and office manager of West’s Oregon office. “We look forward to continuing our long-term relationship with them and helping support their vital mission.” West is a specialized water resources engineering firm and small business.
