Bids are due Sept. 10. Great Falls is among a half-dozen Manitoba Hydro generating stations on the Winnipeg River. Units at Great Falls are taken down every three years for maintenance. Manitoba Hydro took bids in July to perform civil construction related to refurbishment of the Unit 4 turbine-generator. The utility now seeks bids for refurbishment of one full set of 20 wicket gates for Great Falls Unit 4. The work has been divided into two items, each for refurbishment of identical half-sets of 10 wicket gates.
