Jobs and People HYDROVISION speaker spotlight: Yves Giraud, EDF Hydro hydroreviewcontentdirectors 2.7.2022 Share Yves Giraud, chief executive officer of EDF Hydro, is a keynote speaker at HYDROVISION International 2022 (photo courtesy EDF) Yves Giraud, chief executive officer of EDF Hydro in France, will be speaking during the opening keynote session at HYDROVISION International 2022. EDF Hydro operates and develops 500 dams and hydroelectric projects in France, including subsidiaries, with a total capacity of more than 20 GW and has nearly 6,000 employees. EDF Hydro also develops and operates hydropower worldwide, through the EDF International Division or for external investors, in particular thanks to its engineering center CIH, which has many references worldwide. Giraud has been EDF Hydro CEO since 2015 and has spent his entire career with EDF Group. He started as a nuclear engineer at the end of the major French electronuclear program in the late 1980s. After that, he held various strategic or management positions in many different businesses, including generation, distribution networks in the north of France, and supply. Giraud graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines de Paris, where he taught economics for several years.
