With recent technological advances, industries are gaining the opportunity to evolve their asset management systems from raw data posted into a database to the transformation of data into knowledge to support decision-making at various levels. This presentation aims to list the multiple initiatives of the Itaipu Binacional operation team on machine learning, artificial intelligence, analytics, big data, cloud management, cybersecurity and the internet of things. The speakers explain how such tools have affected asset management, operational safety, situational awareness of the various levels of control, and subsidizing managerial decision-making.
