Turbines and Mechanical Components Help guide the industry: HYDROVISION International opens 2024 call for speakers Elizabeth Ingram 7.27.2023 Share We have opened up our call for content — abstracts and speakers — for HYDROVISION International 2024, so now is the chance to help guide the hydropower and dams industry when it gathers at this global hydro industry event. HYDROVISION International 2023 featured about 180 speakers sharing their lessons learned, challenges solved, and insights into industry trends in the summit and knowledge hub sessions. Attendees came from about 50 countries to get training, education and networking opportunities. For 2024, there are two ways you can be a thought leader in the global industry. First, abstracts for technical papers for HYDROVISION International 2024 will be accepted in eight broad categories: civil works and dam safety, energy storage, equipment and technology, market trends and asset strategies, new development, operations and maintenance, policies and regulations, and water and environment. All abstract submissions will be evaluated by the Advisory Committee. Preference will be given to abstracts that focus on innovative, practical and proven technologies and methods and those that include the involvement of an owner or operator of a dam or hydropower project. Abstracts that describe the focus and content of proposed papers (maximum of 4,000 characters) are due by Sept. 29, 2023, and the submitter will be notified via e-mail no later than Jan. 10, 2024, as to whether or not their paper has been selected. The presenting author for all selected abstracts will then be invited to make either a technical paper presentation or poster gallery presentation at HYDROVISION International 2024. All presented technical papers will be made available to conference delegates through the online access to papers and presentations program. Second, we have issued a call for speakers for the panel presentation sessions. Panel presentations will be made in the same categories mentioned above. Panel presentations are intended to be informal in nature, involving a moderator-driven panel discussion around a specific topic that also addresses questions from the audience. If you feel you have the expertise to speak on a particular subject, make sure you share those details with us so you can be considered to be invited as a speaker.
