Three companies with ties to hydroelectric power have recently announced job changes and new appointments.

First, Robert Gallimore has been named hydro plant manager for American Electric Power, succeeding Doug Rosenberger, who will manage the coal-fueled Mitchell Plant in West Virginia.

Gallimore will oversee all operational, performance, regulatory, financial and safety functions of AEP’s 16 hydroelectric and four solar facilities.

Most recently, Gallimore worked as hydro maintenance superintendent. He joined AEP in 1985 and has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Ohio University.

David Hoffman, managing director of AEP field and support services in power generation, said, “Throughout his time at AEP, he has participated in numerous special projects and initiatives both within the company and with the larger industry as a whole. Rob will challenge the entire hydro organization to continuously improve and add value to every aspect of their operations.”

Second, Spanish engineering and technology group SENER has appointed Jorge Sendagorta Cudos to head the Engineering and Construction division, which comprises three business units: Renewables, power and oil & gas; Marine; and Infrastructure and Transport. Previously, Cudós was SENER’s country manager in Mexico.

Within renewables, SENER does work on hydroelectric and wave power facilities.

The Engineering and Construction area has branches in Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Chile, China, United Arab Emirates, Spain, the U.S., Morocco, Mexico, Portugal, the UK, and South Africa.

Third, the New Hampshire Sustainable Energy Association has a new executive director, Madeleine Mineau. Former Executive Director Kate Epsen will remain on the board of directors.

NHSEA’s mission is to bring clean, local, efficient, renewable energy to benefit New Hampshire’s economy, ratepayers and taxpayers.

Mineau formerly was waterways manager for the city of Nashua and serves as co-chair of the Granite State Hydropower Association.
